"I LOVE MY VAGINA" is an ongoing project, inaugurated by a happening and installation during the first Polish edition of the "Vulva Days", April 2010. In a specially created photo studio I have taken photos of volunteer vaginas (that arrived from all over Poland), printing them right after and adding to the big wall installation, where women (and men) could look at them and compare them to each other.
Photos were taken in a naturalistic way, but with the "L'origine du monde" (The Origin of the World) by Gustave Coubert in mind, to give all photographed vaginas a "piece of art" status. After all, vagina is not only a source of pleasure and joy, but also or even most of all a source of life, and therefore deserves respect. My goal was to initiate a conversation that will unite, and break down both inner and outer borders.
This project does not have a sexual context and is done as an affirmation of femininity, self-acceptance and female empowerment.
The project is being continued, so if any of you wants to join, please do not hesitate to contact me in order to organise a session.
Vaginas of all woman, unite! ;)
